Event Schedule

The jam-packed event schedule for the 35th America’s Cup begins on May 26th with the first of the round robin races for the Qualifiers to determine the Semi-Finalists for the knock out phase of the competition. The Challenger match racing series begins June 7th which will determine the official challenger to race against the defender, ORACLE TEAM USA, in the fight to become the 35th winner of the oldest trophy in international sport, the America’s Cup. The finals begin Saturday June 17th with the first race starting at 2pm in the Great Sound.

In between all the high-speed action, the J Class Regatta will take place June 16th – 20th, 2017. This will provide a spectacular opportunity for spectators to watch the original America’s Cup sloops race against each other in a round robin series. The J Class yachts are an almighty sight with over 30 crew members crewing the 150ft sloops.

The future stars of the America’s Cup will be showcased with the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup scheduled for June 12th – 21st. Spectators will watch 16 teams under the age of 25 from 16 countries around the world vie for the Red Bull Youth America’s Cup. Past winners include Peter Burling, the current helmsman for Team Emirates New Zealand, so expect truly exciting racing! The youth teams will race in the same AC45 catamarans that are currently used by the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series.
